About My Zen
For as long as I can remember I’ve always been an artsy/crafty kind of person and for some reason just stopped. Then in 2011 my husband Mark was diagnosed with liver failure and became very ill. During this time he would be in and out of hospitals. He was dual listed and the hospital that he went to was KUMED (University of Kansas Medical Center). We live in Northern California and were lucky enough to have our niece Christy reside in Kansas. Mark lived off and on in Kansas with her and my sister Toni, just waiting for his gift of life. I had to remain home and work in order to keep our insurance. During these long months I took up my jewelry making again just to keep my mind from wandering into those bad places. It was the only thing that would keep me calm and relaxed so that’s where I came up with My Zen. My Zen is my way to relax, be creative and escape. I put a lot of good energy and love in everything I make and really enjoy creating them. As for my husband Mark, he received his transplant in 2014 and is doing very well. This is all possible through great Doctor’s, hospital staff, prayers and love from family and friends whom I’ll always be grateful to!
